Cameron University\u2019s Esports program offers our full-time students a chance to be a part of our emerging esports team. Students will compete in tournaments and scrimmages in the video games \u201cValorant,\u201d \u201cRocket League,\u201d \u201cOverwatch,2\u201d and \u201cSuper Smash Bros Ultimate.\u201d The team will compete against other universities throughout the year.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The creation of an esports team at Cameron is more than an extracurricular activity. When the program started, we had planned on having 4 different teams with 10-15 members on each team. Each student will have to exercise critical thinking and be able to work together to achieve team goals. For team-based games, just as in other sports, players often have different roles and responsibilities, so good communication and the ability to work together is critical to success. These are skills our students will fine-tune through esports and those skills will serve them throughout their professional lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


There are certain qualifications that have to be met in order to be apart of Cameron University’s Esports team. These rules must be followed in order for our team to compete in several different collegiate competitions where prizes are awarded to our students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
